October Already?

Here we are in October and I feel like I have taken so few pictures!

We have been so busy! But a good busy as we have things to do that are paced and spaced. Alex is taking Government, SAT prep, Speech and Literature, and Anatomy and Physiology in classes outside the home. And he is taking Algebra. Addison is taking Logic, science, writing and theater, in outside classes. He is also taking language skills, math 6, spelling and history. And Atley is busy learning to read, do math and write! In our co-op she is taking sea creatures, community, and literature. 
Atley and Addison love the theater class they are in. They will be doing Around the World in 80 Days. Addison is in the lead role of Fogg. Atley is a beggar girl and clerk as well as musical. And I don't have many pictures of Alex because he is either studying, playing tennis (hard to get good shots at tennis) or with friends. 
Rick has been traveling an awful lot. He has been to Germany, Nashville and as I write, he is in Florida. When he is home, he is trying to keep up with "stuff" and finish the shed. It is close to done! We have has so much rain lately and you know what rain does to construction! Anyway, on to the good part- the pictures! I should have some good ones to finish out October as we have Addison's birthday, the State Fair and a Kayaking Day upcoming! Someone remind me to bring my camera!

Rick took Atley to our local Town and Country shop and found this huge wrench! 
Addison tested for his "Senoir Green" belt. Every belt level they must test and do their detailed forms with perfection. They also must present sparring moves with a partner to pass on to the next level. Addison was very concerned about passing, but pass he did! 



 And here is Addison being presented with his Senoir Green belt! We are so very proud of him. 

Atley was telling me how much she loves blankets!

Buttons is our neighbor's dog and Atley loves to say hi! Alex dog sits for Buttons and Atley and Addison always help!

It's already July 2017!

It is already July but I am putting in the last quarter again. Maybe this is turning into a quarterly update!  This quarter included our family trip to the Outer Banks. It was so great to see everyone. Then we drove to Atlanta. And life in-between.  Wet suits were not even a necessity on this trip! Sunny days and warmer water! I even went swimming a couple of days! This house had an amazing kitchen and we served up heapfuls of food! And our good friend Erin, came to visit us from Florida. She was here for other reasons but we still were able to get together for lunch! Former students getting married! Yup, I'm feeling a little old! The setting was so beautiful! And he drove the entire way home from Atlanta and most of the way there! Gotta get in the historical and nature places when we are somewhere. This place had both. Roswell is one fun town. October 2015

October began with TKD testing. Atley tested for her senior blue belt and this was a tough one. I didn't know if she would be able to test but she practiced and practiced and she tested! The forms are very complicated and there is so much to remember. I am impressed with how hard she works and how well she does. A bit nervous walking into test.. Sparring well is also a big part of testing...  She passed!!!! We are studying Flying Creatures this year so I organized a trip for her class to a 700 acre environmental education preserve and they designed a class just for our group! Hands on and very educational. And Melissa and Karl came down for a visit for a few days! Melissa brought tons of her old costume jewlery to share with Atley. And Atley is making a doughnut costume for Halloween. We saw this on YouTube and I thought. "we can do this." Addison's 14!!! His birthday was so fun! Thank you everyone for the car...

Maine 2017

We took a trek up to Maine to visit Grammie and Grampy Meehan and then we went to the cottage and saw Aunt Amy and Emily and Lila.   Eating on the pier overlooking a bay. Then eating lobsters...  Baltimore airport!  Onto the rental car...  I LOVE this farm!! Atley noticed 2 fish in this picture! Can you see them? Did I mention I LOVE this farm! I LOVE my baby too!! Near the old ice house... Captain Atley! Atley and I have big ideas for this barn but we will have to do this in the south... Nothing like Maine! Missing Alex!
