And we had snow at home this year. Just as we were reminding ourselves that , yes, we do live in the South... it snowed! We had been very jealous of our family up north and then we got snow too! Very fun. It was exciting to lose power but only for 10 hours. Rick hooked up the generator for a bit and we have gas logs that kept us toasty.  Atley attended her first "Father Daughter Dance". They had so much fun together. Atley prepared for weeks, planning her dress and shoes and everything else..  And we also had Atley's birthday party! We had the family party and her friend party. Good times! Addison's best friend, Ethan, here... Rick and my good friend, Jennifer, here... And we must include some of Alex's photography... Addison at theater rehearsal...  Addison's selfies...

And we had the coziest cabin to stay in the entire time. The cabin was less than a mile from the area, and had tons of biking and hiking trails surrounding.  Day one! Atley was doing so well! Our rule is you must be able to stop and turn before you go up the mountain. And Atley was about to go up because she was doing so well. Then one more time up the "magic carpet".... and.... she lost her balance on it and got tumbled and... broke her arm. Nonetheless, we still had a very good time! We took turns skiing with Alex and Addison. Since the cabin was so close it was easy to manage a good time for all. Alex took this shot of Addison and I in the foggy mist up ahead... Have mountain bike, will travel.... A fire made the room very cozy.... ...
