Outer Banks part II

 For this post, Atley is helping me. She is telling me what to type.

Dad is nice. I love him so much! He  is the best boy.
 Addison was  kayaking on the sound. He was so smart to do it.
 Heading out!

 We made some discoveries...
 Alex went to check out a snake and it ended up chasing him!!!
 This is not the same snake that chased Alex. But we saw so many water snakes and otters this day!
 I love Daddy sooo much.
 My legs are buried in the sand. A wave had washed over me.
 Mom and Dad went out in the kayaks on the ocean side too. Mom went really far out and said it was  a most unique experience. Coming back in was scary though.
 Mom flipped the kayak on the surf. So did Dad. Dad helped mom get back.
 They had fun!
 Oh yeah! We saw wild horses on the beach!! We ran and ran when we heard they were there and they were so beautiful.
 Lovely to see wild and free horses. The fence is to keep the people out of the natural area.
Uncle Karl is showing us his big muscles!

It's already July 2017!

It is already July but I am putting in the last quarter again. Maybe this is turning into a quarterly update!  This quarter included our family trip to the Outer Banks. It was so great to see everyone. Then we drove to Atlanta. And life in-between.  Wet suits were not even a necessity on this trip! Sunny days and warmer water! I even went swimming a couple of days! This house had an amazing kitchen and we served up heapfuls of food! And our good friend Erin, came to visit us from Florida. She was here for other reasons but we still were able to get together for lunch! Former students getting married! Yup, I'm feeling a little old! The setting was so beautiful! And he drove the entire way home from Atlanta and most of the way there! Gotta get in the historical and nature places when we are somewhere. This place had both. Roswell is one fun town. October 2015

October began with TKD testing. Atley tested for her senior blue belt and this was a tough one. I didn't know if she would be able to test but she practiced and practiced and she tested! The forms are very complicated and there is so much to remember. I am impressed with how hard she works and how well she does. A bit nervous walking into test.. Sparring well is also a big part of testing...  She passed!!!! We are studying Flying Creatures this year so I organized a trip for her class to a 700 acre environmental education preserve and they designed a class just for our group! Hands on and very educational. And Melissa and Karl came down for a visit for a few days! Melissa brought tons of her old costume jewlery to share with Atley. And Atley is making a doughnut costume for Halloween. We saw this on YouTube and I thought. "we can do this." Addison's 14!!! His birthday was so fun! Thank you everyone for the car...

Maine 2017

We took a trek up to Maine to visit Grammie and Grampy Meehan and then we went to the cottage and saw Aunt Amy and Emily and Lila.   Eating on the pier overlooking a bay. Then eating lobsters...  Baltimore airport!  Onto the rental car...  I LOVE this farm!! Atley noticed 2 fish in this picture! Can you see them? Did I mention I LOVE this farm! I LOVE my baby too!! Near the old ice house... Captain Atley! Atley and I have big ideas for this barn but we will have to do this in the south... Nothing like Maine! Missing Alex!
