May Days

 Atley really, really wanted to start a garden this spring. I wasn't going to, but she had earned a prize and really wanted to get something for the garden... so we dug in and now have a beautiful garden!
 Our last meeting for out history co-op. After learning about WW2 and post war times, we met to do some fun activities. Andrea is leading us in this activity.
 Atley has herself a gas mask! The British all had these issued during the war. I told the story of how Omi escaped from her home, just as it was bombed.
 Here we are creating our own radio show with scripted parts and sound effects. It is not as easy at is seems! Alex was missing from this day because he was at Driver's Ed. Whoaa...

 YES!! We did get about 3 quarts of honey before they swarmed yet again! This is the BEST honey ever!
 It is quite a process to strain it all. I have a big spinner but since our amount was so small, we did it by hand. Neighbors helping too!
 Omi came up to join the fun!
And Addison was getting every last bit out. I still have the comb in the fridge that I need to purify and melt down. While Atley made name stamps.
This weekend, we went camping at Jordan Lake, with a few families and had so much fun! The camera was left at home though. That is all for today!

It's already July 2017!

It is already July but I am putting in the last quarter again. Maybe this is turning into a quarterly update!  This quarter included our family trip to the Outer Banks. It was so great to see everyone. Then we drove to Atlanta. And life in-between.  Wet suits were not even a necessity on this trip! Sunny days and warmer water! I even went swimming a couple of days! This house had an amazing kitchen and we served up heapfuls of food! And our good friend Erin, came to visit us from Florida. She was here for other reasons but we still were able to get together for lunch! Former students getting married! Yup, I'm feeling a little old! The setting was so beautiful! And he drove the entire way home from Atlanta and most of the way there! Gotta get in the historical and nature places when we are somewhere. This place had both. Roswell is one fun town. October 2015

October began with TKD testing. Atley tested for her senior blue belt and this was a tough one. I didn't know if she would be able to test but she practiced and practiced and she tested! The forms are very complicated and there is so much to remember. I am impressed with how hard she works and how well she does. A bit nervous walking into test.. Sparring well is also a big part of testing...  She passed!!!! We are studying Flying Creatures this year so I organized a trip for her class to a 700 acre environmental education preserve and they designed a class just for our group! Hands on and very educational. And Melissa and Karl came down for a visit for a few days! Melissa brought tons of her old costume jewlery to share with Atley. And Atley is making a doughnut costume for Halloween. We saw this on YouTube and I thought. "we can do this." Addison's 14!!! His birthday was so fun! Thank you everyone for the car...

Maine 2017

We took a trek up to Maine to visit Grammie and Grampy Meehan and then we went to the cottage and saw Aunt Amy and Emily and Lila.   Eating on the pier overlooking a bay. Then eating lobsters...  Baltimore airport!  Onto the rental car...  I LOVE this farm!! Atley noticed 2 fish in this picture! Can you see them? Did I mention I LOVE this farm! I LOVE my baby too!!
