The Last Week of October and First Weekend of November...

Fall Festival with lots of fod and fun!

In our co-op, one of Atley's classes is Astronomy. She is making a model of the moons phases with oreo cookies! But then she ate them!


The Duchess of Burgess, the witch (fake) the Little Princess Brown, and Facebook!
Humour on several levels with that one! The diet book for trick or treat was a bit of humour too!
Alex was at work, then tennis and the Duke of Burgess (Rick) was off on a hunting expedition. :))

We are in a literature club and do field trips based on different books. This was a family event, put on by all the members, based on the book The Duchess Bakes a Cake.


This was so fun! Who can get the most balls on the other side!








Alex took the nature photos with my phone. I think he has an eye for pictures.







 And we celebrated Addison's birthday!!!





Addison is really into science and learns all he can from many different sources. He gave a presentation on magnets in one of his classes. He put together a demo and point point. It was really good. I wish I captured the whole thing!

It's already July 2017!

It is already July but I am putting in the last quarter again. Maybe this is turning into a quarterly update!  This quarter included our family trip to the Outer Banks. It was so great to see everyone. Then we drove to Atlanta. And life in-between.  Wet suits were not even a necessity on this trip! Sunny days and warmer water! I even went swimming a couple of days! This house had an amazing kitchen and we served up heapfuls of food! And our good friend Erin, came to visit us from Florida. She was here for other reasons but we still were able to get together for lunch! Former students getting married! Yup, I'm feeling a little old! The setting was so beautiful! And he drove the entire way home from Atlanta and most of the way there! Gotta get in the historical and nature places when we are somewhere. This place had both. Roswell is one fun town. October 2015

October began with TKD testing. Atley tested for her senior blue belt and this was a tough one. I didn't know if she would be able to test but she practiced and practiced and she tested! The forms are very complicated and there is so much to remember. I am impressed with how hard she works and how well she does. A bit nervous walking into test.. Sparring well is also a big part of testing...  She passed!!!! We are studying Flying Creatures this year so I organized a trip for her class to a 700 acre environmental education preserve and they designed a class just for our group! Hands on and very educational. And Melissa and Karl came down for a visit for a few days! Melissa brought tons of her old costume jewlery to share with Atley. And Atley is making a doughnut costume for Halloween. We saw this on YouTube and I thought. "we can do this." Addison's 14!!! His birthday was so fun! Thank you everyone for the car...

Maine 2017

We took a trek up to Maine to visit Grammie and Grampy Meehan and then we went to the cottage and saw Aunt Amy and Emily and Lila.   Eating on the pier overlooking a bay. Then eating lobsters...  Baltimore airport!  Onto the rental car...  I LOVE this farm!! Atley noticed 2 fish in this picture! Can you see them? Did I mention I LOVE this farm! I LOVE my baby too!! Near the old ice house... Captain Atley! Atley and I have big ideas for this barn but we will have to do this in the south... Nothing like Maine! Missing Alex!
